What are the categories of membership?
Stormwater Australia and our State Associations offer different types of memberships for individuals, organisations, and students who are interested in stormwater management. Here is a summary of the types of membership available (click to expand):
Join as an individual and nominate the state where you reside. Upon approval, individual members enjoy all rights and privileges, such as the ability to nominate representatives to exercise their membership rights and the right to vote and hold office. The cost of Individual Membership varies by state and some states have a one-off joining fee. The prices are detailed when you select Join Now in the menu and then select a membership option. The prices include GST.
This membership type is available for companies that are state-based, i.e. do not have national coverage. Upon approval, company members enjoy all rights and privileges, such as the ability to nominate representatives to exercise their membership rights and the right to vote and hold office. State-based companies can select which state they operate. Company members can add additional employees. The cost of Company Membership varies by state and some states have a one-off joining fee. The prices are detailed when you select Join Now in the menu and then select a membership option. The prices include GST.
This membership is for organisations with a national interest that operate in multiple states. Corporate/Sustaining memberships will be managed by the National Stormwater Association. Corporate/Sustaining members can add as many employees as they wish. Corporate/Sustraining members do not have the right to vote or hold office. The cost of Corporate/Sustaining Membership is $1920 per annum including GST.
In accordance with the Stormwater Australia Constitution (Clause 5.3) membership as a sustaining member shall be open to any person or organisation with a national interest by such national corporation making an application for sustaining membership in accordance with this constitution, and if granted a sustaining membership, shall have the rights and privileges of membership in each member association in states where the sustaining member maintains an office or conducts business.
This membership is provided by the association to recognise and develop our next generation of leaders and is open to any student currently studying at a recognised educational facility. There is no fee for Student Membership and students enjoy most membership rights and privileges, except the right to vote and hold office. Proof of enrolment at a recognised educational facility is required when joining and renewing
