What are the categories of membership?
Stormwater Australia offers different types of memberships for individuals, organisations, and students who are interested in stormwater management. Here is a summary of the types of membership available (click to expand):
Join as an individual and nominate the state where you reside, you will then be contacted by your stormwater state organisation. Upon approval, individual members enjoy all rights and privileges, such as the ability to nominate representatives to exercise their membership rights and the right to vote and hold office.
This membership type is available for companies that are state based, i.e. do not have national coverage. Upon approval, company members enjoy all rights and privileges, such as the ability to nominate representatives to exercise their membership rights and the right to vote and hold office. State based companies can select which state they operate in and they will then be contacted by their state stormwater organisation.
This membership is for organisations with a national interest that operate in multiple states. Sustaining/Corporate memberships will be managed by the National Stormwater Association. In accordance with Clause 5 of the Stormwater Industry Association Constitution, all Sustaining/Corporate members will be deemed members of the state in which they have an office or conduct business. Sustaining/Corporate members can add as many employees as they wish however the sustaining member can nominate up to four persons who shall exercise the members rights and privileges and shall fully comply with an abide by the constitution of the member association or member associations. Each Sustaining/Corporate member is entitled to one vote at a Stormwater Australia annual or special meeting. The current cost of Sustaining/Corporate Membership is $1920 per annum including GST.
This membership is provided by the association to recognise and develop our next generation of leaders and is open to any student currently studying at a recognised educational facility. There is no fee for Student Membership and students enjoy most membership rights and privileges, except the right to vote and hold office. Proof of enrolment at a recognised educational facility may be required when joining and renewing.
